
KERALA FLOODS
Kerala, the ‘God’s Own Country’ met with an unprecedented natural calamity due to heavy rains, floods and landslides throwing a majority of its inhabitants out of gear. Many families lost their loving ones, their homes and business establishments putting them in grave misery The floods has caused displacement to millions and damages to more than 1 lakh houses.
A) FLOOD RELIEF ACTIVITIES BY HHSSTS CHARITABLE TRUST
(in association with Temples and Other Organisations)
a) Emergency help Line 24*7.
b) Accommodation to needy in Guest Houses/Marriage Halls etc
c) Drinking water, cooked food supply to Government camps for 500 families.
d) 750 Family kits that contains of rice, grocery, house hold kits for hygiene, and pair of dresses door delivered to needy by volunteers
e) Volunteers helped people to get medical aid
f) Community Kitchen for 300 people for 7 days
g) Risky means of transport ie by Lorries, Boats etc to provide Medical aid in isolated relief camps during the peak time of floods.
h) Free Medical follow up Camps
i) Replenishment of grocery and other essentials

B) REHABILITATION
a) Team of volunteers helped clean homes and public places.
a. Around 200 Volunteers joined from various unaffected areas
b. Hundreds of man days to help the affected families set their home right.
c. Social visits by women and elderly volunteers.
b) Provision of service of Electricians / Plumbers etc for free Repairing of plumbing and electric equipment to 100 House Holds.
c) Replacement of motor pumps etc to needy.
d) Free Supply of Kitchen Utensils , Gas Stove etc. to needy 300 families
e) Supply of needed items for Small Businesses who lost their stock/ equipment etc in floods.
f) Cash assistance to more than 500 families in several parts of Kerala for rehabilitation /cleaning /replacement of houses.

The relief operations were planned with utmost care.
Volunteers were given fresh equipments and were briefed about safety during work.
Technicians/helpers engaged in relief activities were covered under specific insurance for workmen policy.
C) TEAM CIVIL ENGINEERING

i) Inspection of stability of Houses in severely affected areas.
ii) Assessment of damages to houses,
iii) Recommendation of repairing cost or solution for reconstruction
iv) Supervision of the repair/ reconstruction (need based)
The Trust carryied out rehabilitation of around 200 families in the districts of Ernakulam, Kottayam and Trichur Districts. The Trust also organized materials and supplied other than the items mentioned in Table A above.
D) RECONSTRUCTION OF HOUSES
HHSSTS Charitable Trust has supported reconstruction/repairs of around 15 houses.

The Trust is registered with registration No 49/IV/2016 and Donations to Trust are eligible for Deduction u/s 80G wide Unique Registration Number AABTH5368P/17-18/T-0132/80G by Order dated 22/3/2018 issued by Commissioner of Income Tax,(Exemptions) Kochi
